Terms of use
License
You may install and play WordTree on your own devices. You may not sell it, reverse engineer it, or offer it as a service to others.
Your account
One account per person. Don't share your sign-in. Anyone with access can play as you and delete your account.
I may remove a handle that impersonates someone, targets another player, or is offensive.
Fair play
The server checks every leaderboard score against the moves that produced it. Submitting fake scores, letting a program play for you, modifying the app, or disguising an emulator as a phone will get your scores removed. Repeat offenses will get your account removed.
Harassment or abuse in a handle or message will get your account removed.
Computer players
WordTree has computer players. They play the same game you do, one move at a time, and the server checks their scores exactly as it checks yours.
They appear on the leaderboards, marked as computer players. If you look for an opponent and nobody is around, your match may be against one: an open match that finds no one is played against a computer player, and in a live duel you can choose to play one. A game against a friend, or from an invitation, is always against that person.
Computer players can't be friended or reported, and nothing is sold on the strength of playing or beating one.
Purchases
Payments go through Apple and Google, and their refund policies apply. Ad removal and cosmetics are tied to the store account that bought them. Gems are used up when you spend them.
Prices and shop items may change, but you keep what you've already bought.
Closing an account
You can delete your account from Settings at any time. I may close accounts that break these terms, and will tell you why.
No guarantees
WordTree is provided as is. I can't promise it will always be available or bug-free. If you lose a score to a bug, email me and I'll look into it.
Changes
These terms may change as the game does. The version on this page is the current one. If a change affects something you paid for, I'll announce it in the app.
